Digitalisation Roadmap
The Automotive Council Digitalisation Roadmap will develop the roadmap for the implementation of digital technologies needed to accelerate the UK automotive sector’s ability to innovate, engineer and manufacture the next generation of highly complex products better, faster and cheaper.
Overview

The project will be delivered over a period of nine months and we plan on engaging with as many people as possible from across multiple sectors alongside the Automotive Industry, to capture best practice.
The Digitalisation Roadmap will replace the previous Virtual Product Engineering Roadmap.

Engaging with industry

There will be three key engagement activities ongoing during the project:
More information on these activities can be found below. If you are interested in engaging with the team as part of this project, please use the contact form provided at the bottom of the page and select the appropriate options from the selection boxes.
Interactive workshops

We will be hosting a series of workshops over the coming months, covering three key themes:

Digital Engineering Environment
Process and Assurance
Co-creative Infrastructure and Environment
These will be fully interactive, using a variety of online and in-person engagement methods. We will cover a variety of topics including:

Artificial Intelligence
Interoperability
Digital Approvals and Certification
Lifecycle and Change Management
Cybersecurity and Ontology
If you would like to be involved or hear more about the workshops, please use the contact form below.
Industry wide survey

As part of our wider engagement, we are conducting a cross-sectoral survey to understand the current level of knowledge and capability of UK manufacturing in the deployment of digitalisation within product development processes. The survey is a key part of our research and will allow as many parties as possible from the industry to take part.

The survey is now closed. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate. The results will be shared with all participants and published on our website at the start of the new year. Stay tuned...
1-2-1 Interview campaigns

We are currently conducting a campaign of interviews with teams from across the automotive, manufacturing and academic sectors. These will help inform and contextualise our discussions during workshops, share best practice from other sectors to support our plans, and provide additional supporting information for presentation on the roadmap.

If you would like to contribute to the roadmap through an interview, please get in touch using the contact form below.
